Great Picture and better sound than my stock! Mar 10, 2009
By Graham F. Henderson I ordered this item from Amazon. Once I had it professionally installed I was informed that it was a faulty radio because my Drivers side tweeter wouldn't work with it but would with other tested radios. I informed Amazon and they overnighted another radio to me and once it was installed I was very impressed. Looks great in a car with a double din. Plays DVD flawlessly! Touch screen is very responsive and many options etc!! My speakers are much louder and more clear now with this unit. Would recommend buying from Amazon before going to your audio shop where they would charge you much more!
Awesome Radio Mar 04, 2011
By Jules This radio is seriously so great, I barely want to leave my car! It does everything! CD/DVD player, Sirius/XM ready, iPod player & of course your normal am/fm tuner. I'm pretty sure this one has bluetooth & rear camera capabilities, but you need the extra parts for those when you are installing the radio. You also need the iPod plug, a Sirius connect universal tuner, but these are all sold here on Amazon, even as a package deal. While I knew you needed all these things, it doesn't tell you that you need an extra switch if you want the DVD player to work while you are driving. I've installed radios before, but I'm had the pros do this one, as it seemed complicated to install all the extra pieces, & not mess up things like the OnStar. It is such a great radio that does it all, though, so performance wise, I have no complaints! Oh, and it has a touch screen & a remote, plus controls on the side. Take your pick of what's easiest for you! This is the 1st double-din radio I've ever got, but it's great, especially for DVD watching! My son loves it!
You get what you pay for... Aug 30, 2009

I had first purchased the Clarion flip out version of this unit, but had problems with the right outputs. So I returned and purchased the MAX385 because i wanted to try to fit the double din. WELL....It looks great and DVD playback is really good. Also the sirius direct connect option is a must, and if you want minimal controls for your iPod, the interface for that is Ok at best. But like many others said the response time is horrible. Switching back and forth between sources is very very slow. My biggest problem recently is that the ipod connection is not linking with the video on my ipod. It constantly says "Waiting for iPod Video Signal." so if you are planning on playing the video's you have on your iPod, you might want to reconsider buying a unit that requires an iPod cable with a composite video cable on it as well. Another con is the non back-lit buttons. For around $300 it is one of the best Units you can buy... but if you can wait a little bit and save up, there are some upgraded versions of this Double din that you will probably more enjoy. I wish i would have waited...
Great, small pain to install Apr 10, 2009
By M. Jacklin Unit works great. Especially love the iPod interface--well done, Clarion. Audio (but not video) works w/ the iPhone 3G (except it doesn't charge, but I blame Apple for that more than Clarion). Everything went pretty smooth except getting the control wire to the parking brake. That was a pain.
