Good System but some flaws. Aug 11, 2010

I recently purchased this system and overall very pleased with it. There are a few flaws though, like the volume knob. It's small and slips through your fingers. I don't have big mutten hands but for those who do be ware. lol The touch screen is a little slow to respond but that may be due to the fact that I have mine in front of the vent with the A/C on. The overall performance is very good. The sounds quality with my stock speakers are excellent and DVD's play awesome! I also play tunes from my iPhone and with the ipod jack it works great. Another flaw is the display, if screen is closed it is sometimes hard to read what is on the display. If you have a stereo set low in your vehicle you are going to have a hard time reading what's on there. I think the negatives to me are minor and that ios why I gave it a four stars. The overall performance of the system is excellent. For the low price range of the system compared to other in the same price range, I think you get a good bang for your buck with this Dual system.

I purchased this Dual stereo with screen from Amazon and had Best Buy's Geek Squad install it for me. Because of the screen, it cost $100 to install. 5 days later the screen wouldn't open/close. I called Dual who suggested I send back the unit. Amazon was great to work with and re-sent a new stereo out right away. The problem is that I'm out the $100 installation cost because the stereo malfunctioned. I called Dual to ask about the cost of installation and he wouldn't even discuss with me, just said that it's not covered under warranty. I suppose I should have used the stereo for a year before I installed it in my car just to be sure that their product actually works. Now I have to sit at Best Buy for another whole day and wait, and then pay for the installation again. Dual was not easy to work with and would not recommend buying a stereo from them unless you can install it for free.

Bought this and put it in myself. Sound quality is good and the interface isn't bad. However the touch screen flickers when on battery power (engine off). It seems to need charging voltage to operate properly... Going to call them about that in case it means it's faulty. Also, you have to wire into the parking brake wire. Can't just ground this one out as it takes 1 sec brake on, then off, then staying on to play DVDs...

This one unit easy to operate screen is clear
Sounds great with subs and amps playback of dvd
and mp3 is great

Bought this about a month ago i wanted a dvd player with touchscreen that was nice looking and not so expensive less than $300. After looking all over the place i decided on this one over a boss dvd player around the same price and i dont regret it. Others that i saw were too expensive or they just looked really ugly either the shape design or colors of the faceplate. In the picture here the deck looks like silver but when you see it in person the buttons and the majority of the front faceplate are actually some sort of black chrome or something similar here it looks just plain silver and black so trust me it looks way better in person I was also surprised by this. The sound is really good loud clear pretty good functions for a $240 unit and the dvd screen itself is really clear when watching movies on it. Its screen is seven inches so its small you got to be sitting in the front seats to enjoy but come on its a car dont expect to see every grain of salt when watching it. Only con i have had so far its that it doesnt have a removable faceplate so you might attract attention but when closed it doesnt have a hint that its a dvd except for a few small words on the deck itself or that big controller it comes with. So just hide the controller and youll be good. The deck itself looks like a nice but not so expensive unit when closed (so they might think its not worth stealing) but when you open it it looks even better and does attract attention so if you live in a bad are close it before you enter the block. Also it has a code so when the power is cut off from your car and they try to install it they cant use it without the code So at least it has that and also usb and its supposedly has full ipod control so you can control your ipod from the reciver itself but its only for ipod all other mp3 you need to control it from the mp3 so that kinda sucks. But overall its really great for the price and do recommend it.
