Exactly what I was looking for Nov 09, 2010

This is a great docking station. It fit my needs exactly. Please note that this docking station does NOT include a USB cable, you must use your own cable; the one that comes with any iPhone/iPod works great. The docking station fits the iPhone 4 perfectly. Interesting to note, the dongle that your iPhone sits on can move forward and backwards, making this docking station compatable with a multitude of Apple devices. The dongle also sticks up far enough that I do not have to remove the iPhone from the caseHHI Rubberized Coating ABS Hard Case For iPhone 4 - Black. Of particular interest to me, the iPhone sits securely on the dongle, and when pushed back against back rest of the dock, it is secure enough that you can easily dial or text without removing the iPhone from the dock. I am very pleased with this dock. It does exactly what I need it to do: it charges/synchs my iPhone with my computer and it holds the phone in an upright position so I can see it, dial from it and text from it without removing it from the dock. It has open sides, and with the dongle able to move backwards and forwards, it should be viable for several generations of Apple products. Note: I do not have an iPad, however, due to the angle of the dongle and the size of the dock, the iPad would not fit on this docking station.
