Great gadget! Feb 22, 2010
By Online buyer LOVE it! Fits my iPod Touch 3G perfectly. No need to remove the Touch from this unit, since it charges both the Touch & speaker batteries, while I listen to music, & serves as a protective case (w/ addition of a Zagg Invisable Shield screen protector). All ports are accessible. Small(extends the length, width, thickness of the Touch by approx. 1.5", 1/2", & 1/2" respectively. Good speakers - listen to music anywhere in a large room. Extends available battery use time by hours. a great value for such a multi-tasking item. Nicely made. HIGHLY recommended!

Good, but..... Apr 09, 2010

After reading the other review that this also works with iPod Touch 3G I decided to buy it. The only problem is that you will not be able to use your Voice Memo app. with it. After plugging your earphone or mic into the bottom of the speaker/charger it does not recognize it. Too bad, nice sound otherwise. I realize that it stated it was for the 2G and if you don't care about Voice Memo it seems to work ok.
Great portable speaker system for Ipod Touch Jun 05, 2010

PRODUCT GOALS I wanted some outboard speakers for my Ipod Touch that were compact and not "hanging off" the unit. I have used several "accordian" speakers for years but these are very clumsy. Sound quality was surprisingly good and the piggyback battery was a real value.
PRODUCT & BUILD QUALITY The product concept of a "sled" to slide the Touch is very good. They top plastic door helps hold the touch in place so it does not fall out of the sled once plugged in. The overall size and weight are just right for an airplane/car use and the volume control on the side works smoothly.
The plastics and assembly seem adequate and should hold up the life of the Touch (1-2 years). The silve is tasteful and not detracting and helps find the sides/controls in the dark. The sliding speaker mechanism works surprisingly well and stays in place closed or open.
Thank you for using standard mini-USB connnector for power. It juices the battery to full in about 6 hours via laptop USB. I use an external 1000mA charger for the Touch which takes about 2 hours to fill this unit. With the touch installed it totals about 3 hours to bring everything up.
PERFORMANCE The speakers play surprisingly loud. If the podcast or streaming audio is of proper initial recording the speakers will easily product 90-95dB of sound which is very adequate. The tonal quality is acceptable with most audio above 150Hz which conveys most music and male voice. There are no cabinet resonances or nasal sound, simply no bass but I cannot expect more really.
The internal battery does a great job! I get about 2 hours from the Touch batter on a movie. This unit gives me a total of about 4.5 hours battery so you can now cross the USA with two movies without trouble. Using streaming audio via wifi in my home, I get 3 hours max but about 6 hours with this unit.
SUGGESTIONS My only real suggestions would be to make a lower cost version without battery and a little thinner. Often I only need 1hr of sound so a passive unit would be great.
