 Surprisingly good case for the price Jul 02, 2010

There's admittedly not a lot of accessories for the iPhone 4 right now, so I decided to buy this one since I wasn't really happy with the selections I've seen so far.
While this is about as basic a case as you can get, it also does the job remarkably well for the price.
I like gel cases because they absorb impact very well - but this particular case adds only a bare minimum of extra bulk - a pleasant surprise.
However, there are no ridges, grooves or other features to improve your grip, so be advised. I got used to my old Otterbox case's ridges to help me grip my older 3GS, so this took a bit of getting used to.
The case covers the SIM slot, the top button, the home button, the volume buttons, and the Apple logo on the back, while the headphone jack + top mic, the dock area, the back camera + LED flash, the ringer slider switch and the phone face are uncovered. I had no problems accessing any of the buttons however, since the case had tell-tale ridges where the buttons are located.
Unfortunately, there's no included screen protector, so you'll have to buy one separately. It also tends to attract dust - a bit of an annoyance.
Not a flashy case, but a good one nonetheless.

Perfectly good no-frills case, a real bargain Jul 22, 2010

I was reluctant to buy this, figuring the low price would inevitably mean a low-quality product--- but this is a perfectly decent, well-constructed and nicely fitting case. Not that sexy, but a great backup or temporary case (for me, a tide-me-over until Apple comes through with their free offer).
Mine came with a clear screen protector, which was a nice surprise. I didn't see that mentioned in the description, so I don't know if the seller just threw it in as a bonus.
Even without the screen protector, this case is a great deal.
UPDATE: It seems that with the case on, pictures with flash don't always take properly. There is a hole exposing the rear camera lens and flash, but the flash reflects off the inner edge of the silicone which causes a white ring to appear at the outside borders of some photos. Pictures without flash are unaffected, and the case does slip on and off easily, so it's not that big a deal (but something to be aware of if you rely on the flash a lot).

Excellent non-flashy, inexpensive case Jul 10, 2010

I needed a temporary case to use on my phone until I can find a suitable, permanent option. I chose this case mainly because of the low price and the fact that I have used similar silicone cases on phones in the past and been happy with them.
It's a typical flat black, no-frills, silicone case. If you've seen one you've seem 'em all. The real difference here is that, at the time of purchased, the price was about $5.00 which, considering many of the currently available alternatives, makes this case the clear winner.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because of the little bits of residual silicone around the openings. It doesn't get in the way of anything and can easily be trimmed off but the finish could be a little bit better. If you haven't used a silicone case before then you should be aware that, although it's rubbery, the back has no ridges to improve grip and it will be slick when you first start using it so you'll still have to use a little extra care when handling your phone. Eventually it should wear in and have a little more grip.
Bottom line:
If you need a temporary case or you want something that's inexpensive and no too flashy this is a very good option.

The cover fits nicely and feel nice when holding the phone with it. HOWEVER it attracts dirt so quick and so much the cover looks "old" after 10 minutes. I can't wipe off the dirt.

I was eligible for a free case under Apple's limited time free case offer and I chose a fancy one retailing at around $35. Apple said that it will arrive by mail in 6-8 weeks (gee, thanks), so I decided to spend $4 on this one to hold me over in the meantime. It arrived quickly and, damn, I'm not sure what magic is in store for me when the other case arrives, but this one does the job just fine. It fits snugly around my phone, is easy to grip, and protects everything but the screen in front. Why are all the other cases so expensive anyway?
