| | Description | This devices comes with a stunning 4.3 inch large LCD Touch screen. Most touch screen mp3, mp4 players out there have single point touch screen, which means the touch points on the screen are just like buttons. You will have to touch the designated points to send commend. One example will be to increase the volume, you will need to touch the + button on the screen. However, this device comes with a multi points touch screen. In the example, to increase the volume, you will move your finger across the volume bar and drage the volume up. You can play MPEG4, WMV, AVI, RM, RMVB, Dvdrip.Xvid, DivX or FLV stream (YouTube) files directly on this device without the need for conversion. Most MP4 or MP5 players out there do not play MPEG4, WMV or DivX formats. This is a huge improvement over the older models. Please note: license protected files (like iTune video or movies purchased from some websites) will NOT play. Some video files with high resolution might need to be compressed to 400 * 240 or lower to maximize the performance of the device. It automatically organizes your MP3 files into different artists, styles, genre and album based on ID 3 tag information. You can even add songs into My Favorite to create your own play list right on the device. The video quality is crispy clear. It can play videos in full screen mode. With the 4.3 inch large screen, you can enjoy your favorite movie and video clips on the go. It has 4 built in fun games. What is more? It has a built in FM transmitter. Now, you can hook it up to your Car Radio system and play music through your car speaker system without any additional cables. We are 100% confident you will find it the best buy for your money. | |

Pyrus Electronics 8gb Touch Multimedia Player with 4.3 Inch Touch Screen and Built in Wireless in Car Fm Transmitter Jul 24, 2010
By Joseph Pros=I have been through about 6-7 music players including the one this replace, a (Microsoft Zune 8bg) which was good except for the software which destroyed my music. When I got this, I was impressed at all the goodies it came with. It has a nice thick and heavy size to it, and the 4.3 inch screen is immaculate for watching videos or viewing photo's which is a major plus in my books. Has a lot more features than my Zune, plus an (MicroSD) slot for more memory(have 2GB card in)for a total of (10GB). The player allows you to set your own pictures as the background, which doesn't say that in the above info, but I was really hoping for such a feature because my Zune has the feature. I loaded all my (PC) wallpapers and their and the quality is amazing and the load/movement times are pretty good. The audio quality is pretty excellent as well, although not the best. The dual headphone jacks is a wanted plus, as well as the built in speaker which emits excellent sound considering it's only a portable speaker. I love the Black metallic look to it. The controls are fairly easy to use now[after a day of frustration].(lol). Overall, this is my first-ever touch-screen player and I am very satisfied!!!
Cons=The player tweaked out on me and then the controls went haywire and got out of whack(and yes I charged it for 8 hours first and every-time) and were not responding. I would have to push an area on one end of the player to get a button like Pause, forward, backward, or the middle of the player for song-time scroll during play, etc; I recently charged it last night and the player froze and was flashing like it was short-circuiting and wouldn't even hold a charge even though it clearly said it was charging on the screen, come to find out after inspection via testing with another charger, that the charger was bad or could not handle charging the player anymore[although worked fine charging my Zune], which is no big deal since I have a fancy universal(iCharger)anyway. Anyways, for some reason after that problem, I managed to get the player charged enough to hit the reset button, and for some reason all my problems were cured and the controls are back to normal.(It's not much of a con, but personal)that the push-and-slide controls take some getting used to. I would've liked just simple touch controls, but it's not big-fret once you get used to how the player operates. It says it has a built-in (FM Transmitter), but I searched all over and there is now (FM Transmitter) listed per-say in settings, etc; so if anyone knows the exact place, name, how-to-operate, etc; of this feature please let me and us know!!! The screen is nearly impossible to see in the daylight outside, even on the lowest light setting, which is a pain always having to stop in shade to change something. Overall, nothing to drastic except for that one problem and glad I didn't have to (RMA) the player[could've been my fault as well], because I really like it!!!
Misc Info= I suggest people keep close tabs on their stylus-pen because I went to an apt the day after I got this, and lost the stylus-pen, and now I have to use the cap from my writing-pen as a stylus type gadget.(extreme-lulz).
Excellent product, and advise people to get this over any Ipod or Zune, both because of the price and the features, as well it's a touch-screen!!!
Thanks Amazon and the seller!!!

"Why does it look like a GPS?" Dec 30, 2010
By Egan "The Done" Dunne There are two ways to really look at this product. You can take the whole package as a replacement for the iPod, or you view it as a 70 dollars little toy that you bought because 150$ for an iPod with a smaller screen is a pretty poor decision for your wallet.
First, a word of advice. The stylus is the radio antenna. Put the stylus in the bag and don't lose it. Yeah, I know. Its ingeniously stupid.
Price wise, this is fantastic. For half the price you're getting a bigger screen and in my opinion, a better looking gadget. Besides, if you're really stuck for conversation topics, you can't comment on how your iPod looks like an iPod, whereas with this, you can spend a fun 15 minutes explaining to a girl, let's call her Candi, wait, no, Kandii, how this really isn't a GPS.
Overall the sound quality is okay, although the external speaker plays bass like I ski down mountains: poorly, and with a lot of rough edges and loud, unpleasant crashes. Video and picture quality is basically the same, and the lack of an HDMI output is a bit disappointing, but then again I'm typing this on a laptop with a larger harddrive and HDMI output galore, so having a small, GPS like MP3 player to do the same thing seems a tad redundant. The screen is plenty bright for indoors, but like everything backlit its piss poor in direct sunlight, but you'd get that from just about anything. And, as a person who avidly listens to music with strange concepts like "friends" and "other people," I'd like to say that the two headphone jacks are very nice. None of that one-in-my-ear-one-in-yours crap anymore.
There are a few flaws you'll probably notice, and this is coming only two days after purchase (although I expected it, to be fair.) It feels, oh, not cheap, but I really can't think of a better word than Chinese. There's just this sort of strange logic about it. It includes a driver CD when the driver is already stored in the device itself, and there's a few engrish mishaps in the out of place "HUMOUR.txt" file. And that antenna thing is just weird, especially when you have no slot for the stylus. You'll also notice, there's no real brand name. I've searched the internet for Pyrus Electronics and the most I found was "Pro Ebiz LLC" or something similar. The back of the thing is blank, just completely black. The welcome and goodbye screens look a bit like they were made using clipart from MS Word 2003, and if I'm completely honest the touch screen will probably prove bothersome since it seems to hate my fingers.
The point I'm trying to make, between my little offshoot rants and what have you, is that this is a good product if you can accept its quirks. Its a little teeny, GPS styled person, but more importantly its a bit like that celebrity you have a crush on. Yes, there are huge flaws, like their acting or singing for instance (sorry Nicolas Cage! Con Air forever, by the way) but either way you like them. Annnnnnd they go a bit wonky sometimes, and there's no name on their back, but when they hold up their arms they can transmit their thoughts over the radio. I think this metaphor has been stretched a bit. It boils down to this: This is not a good product if you want a reliable, well made piece of electronics. Its basically crap. But its crap that doesn't fall apart and its pretty amusing. You can give it a name rather than a brand. I named mine Fu Manchu, and together we will block out all of the radio signals in the car. All of them.

Waste of money Nov 23, 2010
By ranrad I bought this thinking a video player to watch movies and touch screen.. Wow!! But unfortunatelly it was full of buggs and lock ups. The video quality was good and sounded ok. The radio wont pick up even local stations. I tried the audio transmitter and it didnt work either. The touch screen worked well. it was fun for a few days then freezez all the time. now it wont even turn on. There is no data to tell you what size of additional flash it will take and just a headache. It was fun for a while when it worked but whats the point it wont turn on now and i have tried everything..

Eh, it's alright Nov 07, 2010
By scorpio88 I've had this for a few weeks now. I use it primarily as a video player while I'm at the gym. It does its job, but it's certainly not amazing. Considering what I paid for it, I didn't expect it to mow the lawn, but I wish it could play video better.
Pros: -Video looks really good. The screen is clear, and I can watch a video while on an elliptical at the gym. -Two audio ports - if you wanted to watch it with someone else. I haven't used this feature, but it's a nice option to have. -Easy to navigate through menus - has a decent UI -Battery life is fine - survives several trips to the gym before I need to recharge -No silly software required - the thing I hate about iPods is that they require iTunes, or a hack of some other special program to work. With this device, you can just plug it into your computer, drag your media onto the drive and off you go. I like that... because I run Linux as my primary OS, I was hoping for no proprietary software. -Came with a little pouch to put it in. -8GB hard drive holds more than enough video for me -Decently solid construction - might not survive a hard fall, but should survive fine in my backpack.
Cons: -Nowhere to put the stylus. I've already lost it. I don't particularly need it, but someone else might to scroll through some of the menus or through a song. The stylus comes separated, and there is no slot in the device to put it into. Crappy design if you ask me. -Audio doesn't sync well with the video. I know it's not my video feed because it works perfectly on my computer. The audio comes out of sync when using xvid encoding. -Poor radio reception - good thing I don't listen to the radio too often, but it would've been nice to have -Useless instruction manual - definitely written by a Chinese computer translator -Low volume - I have to crank it all the way up to hear it well -Reflective screen makes it difficult to view indoors with a lot of lighting, or outside in the sun -Vertical viewing angles leave a lot to be desired. Because I use this at the gym, the platform that this rests on is at a fixed angle, and the video is difficult to see because of the mediocre-quality LCD screen. I have to prop the unit forward so it's at an angle I can actually see the video. -Non-standard charger - manual says that you can't use a regular USB charger, so when this one goes, that's it. I hate that.
All in all, it was sorta worth the money, but if I were making this purchase again, I would've spent a little bit more to get something better.

Just what I was looking for. Oct 25, 2010
By Bill54 I had been searching for a reasonably priced Audio/Video player for some time and lucky me I found this one. It truly is exactly what I was looking for. Extremely easy to set up and use. Quality is superb. The touch screen is very responsive and crystal clear. I have watched several movies on it while waiting at doctor appointments or at the DMV. Plays every bit as well as it does on my computer. It actually has other functions that I was not even looking for but have used since I have them available. I couldn't be happier with this purchase.
