Piece of junk - pick something else Jul 29, 2011

I received this MP3 player as a present, I mainly use MP3 players with a cassette adapter to play through my car's stereo. THE PROS: The sound quality was pretty good (although not as good as my old Creative labs ZEN), and it was easy to drag & drop audio files into it. THE CONS: (A) the controls are touchy & not intuitive, and (B) the battery life droped to almost zero after maybe 3 months of moderate use. There is a switch on the top of the unit to disable the controls so you don't change songs while picking it up, but even that is kind of a hassle to use. The battery life is AWFUL - I'm down to maybe 15 minutes before it needs a charge. Although it has a 12-month warranty, I don't have a receipt so I can't get it fixed. The internal battery (p/n AE402030P) is a Chinese-made lithium polymer cell which I can't seem to find ANYWHERE. The only reason I can still use this player is because I rigged up a USB power source in the car so the MP3 player runs off the electrical system. RECOMMENDATION: Pick something else - this unit is a cheap, shoddy waste of money. I would rate it as ZERO stars here if it were possible.

It was hard to load, difficutlt to set, too small, screen hard to read.
I thought because I had purchased a different MP3 by RCA that I would be happy. Wrong. Don't bother with this player.
