1Form is great  Feb 05, 2010 By Viper__40
This dock has the ability to rotate to horizontal which is great for watching my Slingbox app. It can be adapted for several different iPod models with the included inserts. Big negative: It does not recognize running apps. It enters into sleep mode and there is no way to overide this. Bigger negative: The volume control is electronic and does not have the ability to compensate for audio files with low volume. The graduation is stepped in such a way that with the lowest setting (not off) you will not hear some audio. So, most times the volume will be too low or too high with no in between. Sold as "A\\Vol" in military exchanges. I bought a vertical dock made by Memorex at Best Buy for $37, far supperior solely because of the excellent volume control.

1For iPhone users this sufers the same flaw as Logic3's iRotate  Jan 30, 2010 By Bruce Ostrout
And i presume by the looks and electronic features is probably off the same chinese line as Logic3's product.

The MAJOR deal breaker is that it has a sleep mode that cant be disabled. So if you use this as a nightstand clock or stop playing music in the dock, after 5 minutes or 30 minutes you wont receive any alarms or phone calls because you wont be able to hear the iPhone it will be totally muted because the speaker system automatically shuts off to save the less than 1 cent an hour in power it might save by being on....

4Love the rotation feature  May 25, 2010 By Chica & Jo "www.chicaandjo.com"
I can see what the other reviewer was saying about the volume maybe not being controlled perfectly but other than that, I have no complaints with this dock. I watch a movie while traveling using this dock and also use it as an alarm. The phone will ring, vibrate, sound your alarm, etc. while being plugged in. It doesn't do it through the speakers but do you really need it to sound your alarm through the speakers in the morning? Probably not.

2Good Sound, Bad Design and Construction  Jan 19, 2012 By mfriedmann4
1) Sound quality is good. I enjoy that I can bring the sound of my iPhone to a nice, strong volume.

2) Volume control on the dock is fairly slow to respond. Often times it seemed like a 1-2 second delay between hitting the volume rocker and the volume actually changing. There is also no indicator of the actual dock's volume level. You simply need to hit the button and listen to it get louder/softer until you've reached the limit, at which point it won't get any louder/softer.

3) The socket where the power cord connects to the dock is extremely unreliable--often resulting in the cord falling out of the socket. This gets extremely frustrating. You'll barely bump/move the dock and the power cord pops out of the socket, meaning you need to plug it back in and then turn the power back on.

4) Rotation feature is practically useless. I'm not quite sure why this is useful. I suppose if you want to sit with the dock in front of you and watch a movie or something on your device, you can put it in a landscape orientation, though I'm not sure I see the point, as in order to watch anything on an iPod Touch or iPhone, you need to be less than two feet from the device anyway, meaning headphones would be just as sufficient. I also found it extremely difficult to rotate the device while it was playing music/videos without interrupting the playback. I.e., rotating it while you're playing your iPod/iPhone will, most of the time, cause it to disconnect in some way.

5) Dock does not stand stably. The dock is equipped with two tiny feet that rotate outward from the bottom of the dock. Because the feet rotate fairly easily, I found that bumping the dock accidentally would sometime cause one of the feet to rotate back into the recessed position, causing the dock to topple over. The feet are also very flimsy, and after a few months of use, one of the feet broke off from the dock, making it extremely difficult to get the dock to stand straight without having to lean it on something, which was still an imperfect solution--one knock-over would cause the poorly-constructed power connection (betw. the power cord and the dock) to disconnect.

While the dock performs fairly well in terms of sound quality and amplification, the design and construction are quite poor.

5Versatile  Nov 11, 2011 By Catherine Tooker
I had this speaker dock and dropped it and it broke. I was very happy that I was able to find another one. It is versatile. Batteries vs. AC, iPod in vertical or horizontal. I take it with me when I travel and use it for music and my alarm clock. This is one of a kind. I've looked for something similar and haven't been able to find anything close.
